

The Government of The Gambia has announced a reduction in administrative fees for information requests to encourage public participation and ensure equitable access.
In an effort to strengthen the Right to Information (RTI) framework, the Gambia Government has officially reduced the administrative charges associated with accessing public records.
According to the National Records Commission, this decision follows consultations with stakeholders and feedback from civil society organizations.
The updated policy ensures that all citizens, regardless of economic status, can easily request information without facing financial barriers.

The NRC, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information, has launched a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about citizens’ right to access public information.

The NRC organized a national training workshop for public officers to enhance digitization and data preservation practices across government institutions.
